Full Bucket's FB-3X00 and Modulair can also be retuned in various ways- something useful recreating scales or inventing in all sorts of music.
Also, I'm about to dive into Karplus-Strong as much as AnaMark will let me. I've got a long way to go for the sound design I want, and that method unlocks so many neat timbres.

Here's my entry for the OSC 10 Year Anniversary! After initializing 5 or 6 projects with various commercial synths, Krakli Plugs' free YAVA4 was ultimately the one to inspire my muse. So thanks to Ian Webster for a fun synth that sounds brilliant!
[Update Mar 15: Spoke with Ian on Krakli's Facebook page, and I realized that this is actually a beta version at the moment. Good to know!]
I can warmly recommend it for bird song, orchestral textures, electric guitars and synthwave. Probably for everything else you throw at it, too!
https://soundcloud.com/terjefjelde/flam ... -by-krakli
As always, minor changes may occur before the deadline.
Details
Synth: YAVA4 by Krakli (free) - 37 instances programmed from scratch
DAW: PreSonus Studio One 4 Professional
Efx:
Studio One: ProEQ (29), Beat Delay (5)
BeatSkillz Max1 Compressor (1)
Klanghelm IVGI (4)
Tal Reverb 2 (1)
Sonic Anomaly Transpire (2)
DD AutoPan (2)
DD Compressor (1)
Sanford Reverb (2)
BootEQmkII (2)
Master: ProEQ -> BootEQmkII -> ProEQ -> DD Reverb -> BootEQmkII -> TDRVosSlickEQ -> Sonic Anomaly Unlimited

Thanks so much, Rob! I finally bought a sub last month, and it really is paradise to know at any given time exactly where my low end is at! I've been making qualified guesses before I got it, but honestly, it was more or less a shot in the dark. And the total overview of the mix improves as well. Best purchase I've made in a long time. Very happy that you, too, can hear what I thought I was hearing!
Synth1 is an excellent choice - and with your earlier WiP, I noticed.
Looking forward to hearing the result!

Yes, you can use any factory presets, no problem! Although, it would be very satisfying and a great learning experience if you try and analyse and/or synthesize those presets yourself. You'd learn sound design in the process and also have a lot of fun learning the synth better.
Good luck!

After a long period of inactivity, I finally found some time to create another KVR OSC entry.
https://soundcloud.com/full-bucket/dark-drums
Done solely with the Stigma synthesizer plugin. Except for the drums sounds *cough, cough* I tried not to tweak the internal sound engine via Stigma's built-in Sound Manager.

Cool, thank you! Yeah, just picked up Diva with the recent sale, and looking to dive into it more. I'm more of a preset tweaker, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to break any rules if anything sounds close to the presets. But, yes! I will try to learn more in the process - this is a cool contest!exponent1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 6:05 amYes, you can use any factory presets, no problem! Hi! This is my very first post here in KVR xD. I've created an account just for participating in this challenge. Actually I always come to KVR but I'd never registered
I'm going to try Synth1 or Sytrus but I still dont't know which to choose. Sytrus is cool and powerful but is too complex. Synth1 is easy to program but it's very overused

Finally got a classical guitar tone I can work with out of Serum...took giving up and coming back after a few days but happened surprisingly quick at that point. How that happens always baffles me.

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

Welcome to OSC, @DawCrash!
There's nothing wrong with an overused synth, Synth1 is everywhere for a reason. It rocks.
If you feel like working with something complex, and even if you don't, you may be interested in joining our Slack channel (linked on the first post of this topic); there's a variety of folks and we can be almost helpful at times.

Haha, Peter! I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but you are one strange dude! Gotta love and respect that!! Great track, too. Your signature sounds that I love start around 2:52. I think you need to hook up with a vocalist.

First version of my track on the Analog Four, with no additional effects, mixing or mastering. Not a huge fan of my own work in this case but it's a good learning experience This version was done by starting the recorder and turning tracks on and off live. Drums are based on presets, other sounds from scratch.
