I still think Uno sounds incredible and is heaps of fun to experiment with. The thought that you can spend about $500 and have something like this plus an 8-voice polyphonic MicroMonsta is amazing. Honestly, with those two synths, some drums and a sequencer you could get up on stage and do anything.

Last week I ordered a 3D printed set of angle brackets for it on eBay which should make it easier to get at in my set-up.

Plus UNO is light enough where mounting on a gooseneck
would allow perfect positioning. Half a small briecase, with an edge
removed, or cut-outs for cables, could mount on a
typical flexi-retractable arm gizmo, as could your
new brackets.

With a good velocity-sensitive keyboard, it's pretty easy
to have two disparate parts of a filtered sound accessible
until the envelope release is replaced by a full attack.
Saw to sine, back to saw etc

I use mine with other things and I want it to stand above those devices around it so I can tweak it live (which I wouldn't do at all with Pulse 2 and can do easily with MicroMonsta as it is). I'm still experimenting with different ways to set it all up but basically I'm looking for the best way to have those three synths, my little Yamaha AG06, Overhub, my Roli and the PC that runs it all all set up together on two boards on my new keyboard stand (using Velcro to keep them in place).

I've spent a lot of money on hardware over the past couple of years and I'm really happy with all the bits and pieces I have now. ( I sold a fair bit of stuff that wasn't working for me.) The trick will be working out how to use it all on stage without it becoming a nightmare to set up and pull down.

Getting settled in with the UNO, my guitars now go
to it's audio input, either from the line-out of an effects rack,
or from a Fender GT40 modeling amp.

Midi is set up with both UNO and an 88 key Alesis sending
data to vsts, so UNO can sequence whatever plugins
are loaded, or with the sequencer off, blend in with
various plugins, very handy as familiarity grows.

It's also handy with sequenced basslines
and rythmic parts for the guitar,
and you could replicate several of the same presets in a row,
with different sequence data, should the urge strike
for sequence variations using the same sound,
that are easy to trigger.

The synth itself fits in well, and with a multi-effects plugin
on it's audio track, good times are :hyper: enjoying it with
U-he synths, IK Syntronik, Seaweed Audio's Fathom,
zynaddsubfx/yoshimi, and effects like Axiom, z3ta+,
Tantra, Replika, Colour Copy/Twangstrom etc etc

Cheers

It dawned on me that when UNO has some instrument
connected to it's audio input, there will be times
when you don't want to hear the UNO as you adjust
the other instrument. Using the UNO editor, you can
just turn off the oscillators in the mixer panel,
to make that happen, or turn down their mix level knobs.

Nice tip, thanks.

My new stands finally arrived this week and they re great. Even with the dowels in place, it weighs nothing yet feels very sturdy. I am really impressed.

I'm going away for the weekend and Uno is coming with me. No laptop, just my ancient 8" tablet, Uno and a portable speaker to keep me amused. Should be fun!

Don't forget the video gear to capture
the good times

Croc Dundee would probly just travel light,
duct tape a phone to a stick, and press record

Since IK are having a handful with the
SampleTank4 rollout, I thought I'd add in
some of the good times, from one of their other
products. I got the small footprint-BigSound UNO synth
going in a fresh linux boot, playing an arpeggio in loop mode,
started the Standalone Yoshimi synth as usual,
made the qjackctl connections, and the UNO was detected
and playing the yoshimi sound, so I added more yoshimi parts
from the 16 available, and thought maybe I should start
the linux Reaper. It Started running without a glitch,
so I loaded the linux U-he Hive, and it was also being played by UNO.
Added an older windows 32bit synthedit plugin, that was wrapped
by linvst, trying to find some fly in the ointment,
but still all was well. So I adjusted the several volume controls,
hooked up the jack timemachine, and pressed record.
Good times at high tide. Great to have UNO in the mix.
I got a splitter for the audio input, so I can have multiple
audio feeds, a drum machine, synth, guitar, whatever
fits in.

Making replacements for factory presets is a time honored
tradition, and UNO with it's editor has been providing
an excellent sound pallette. I add a flexible distortion,
modulations and reverb, and it's a great fit in
movie soundtrack/TV/ and favorite artist blends.

The arpeggio PLY mode with 'hold' on, is great for
rewarding a practiced musician, whatever you can
string together plays whatever is hooked up, vsts,
other synths, and it's own sound. The audio interface
has a guitar amp output and synth output connected,
so it's become an integral part of getting things done.

The form factor also has several plusses,
the longer I have it, the better I like it.

:dog: the above was a response to a post
on page one way back 2018
...oh well, it's still true :hihi:

Last post on page 35 has an attached loop of 3 syntonik sounds
being played by UNO arp. Great fun to demo drumkits with UNO,
always find some happy surprises while getting familiar
with the options.

I missed that attachment, thank you for pointing it out! Sounds great, thank you for sharing.

Pretty easy to miss, considering how busy things were at
the time :hyper: What fun to have my own
synth room for tinkering

I attached a UNO preset that makes no sound :dog:

but wait, it's for people using UNO as a
an audio-input for other gear, in my case I have an
Alesis QS8 synth as my main keyboard, and an external
drum machine, as there are times I just want to play
a piano/synth with a drum beat. With this preset,
UNO volume knob controls the volume of the audio input,
but there is no synth sound. Simple, as mentioned above,
mainly just turned off the oscillators. Maybe someone else
will find it useful...a SampleTank Grand piano, a little
reverb, and a drummer that doesn't get bored or tired...
a peaceful monsoon, and cool hardware,
what's not to love?

Most of what I do is in linux. The attached preset was archived
in win7 during a tv break. UNO editor standalone works well
in linux, lately the plugin version in reaper pops up a runtime error
that has to be greeted properly before proceding, so it get's
used mainly when making a new effect chain.
