rlared wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:09 pm I'm really not trolling or being unreasonable. The thread is about Massive X, the delay was brought up, I'm talking about it. If you want to be accepting of NI's actions then fine, but respect people like myself who have an opposing viewpoint.
Really, is a delay like that so severe? What exactly is so severe about it? Are people being sad about it? Is it just that they can't wait? What is it exactly? It's hard for me to understand that people are upset that a company takes its time, instead of releasing a buggy product.
I really can't explain it any more simply than I already have. If you sell something and commit to a delivery date, then move the date out when you've already taken payment for it, that is a bad business practice.

To be clear, I'm not bent out of shape about this. It just makes me feel negative towards NI.

To respond to others, I am observing this without having paid for Komplete 12. I still can have an opinion on the matter. I guess I have to have a few thousand posts on KVR before I can be treated respectfully?
This shit is definitely a sign of current-day society internet entitled behavior. Sorry. People disagreeing with you has to be turned into a failure to respect you. Just short of kvetching about your right to free speech. Someone disagreed with you, that's all.

If someone bought this before the release date, you know what that was? A pre-order. I pre-ordered Kontakt [6] upgrade.
I knew what I was doing. I was buying into something that didn't happen yet!
I didn't have anything riding on it but $99. No one has anything riding on this except for a modest price.
IE: Since you (the universal you, before you weaponize that bit :) ) haven't worked with it, and have only some basic points of its architecture revealed, you can't exactly be relying on it for projects, let alone for your livelihood.

For those of us who have been around a while, these things are priced insanely low. It's never enough, though.
With all due respect: Grow up.
You have 16,000 posts on KVR. Sorry but you're just a guy twice my age who spends every day in front of a computer. Spare me your social analysis of a generation you don't understand.
Grow up!

You live in Germany, a first world country. Every problem you have is a first world problem. That's cool though, go ahead and use that phrase anyway.

My guess is that Bazille is u-he most popular.
Actually it's Zebra and Diva.

You know, i still hail from times when there was no internet where everyone could vent when he doesn't get what he wants, and people were really relaxed and calm about things. See, i could understand if you're pissed off when your kitchen doesn't get delivered in time, or the beds for your bedroom, or something like that. Not a soft synths which was supposed to be in some package among tons of other stuff, and wasn't delivered in time, so customers have to wait a couple more months. Really, i can't relate. Over and out.
And people walked uphill to school both ways in the snow, and everyone respected their elders and ate all their vegetables. Right...

After all (luckily) we are still human beings behind the operation. If it's here, in the NI headquarter or elsewhere. Amen. :ud:

Rumor is that some of the oscs were sourced from non-organic child-slave manatee-amptuees.

That's just pathetic. I mean how easily triggered are you? You couldn't take a breath to come up with a better comeback than that, you just reached for whatever you could in that moment to toss. My post count and this 'generation I don't understand'. I understand perfectly how entitled and really childish someone, anyone, of any age is, who can't be disagreed with or they start whining about respect.

Yeah, I spend every day in front of a computer. You know what the reveal here is, the guy who whines about respect owed lacks it coming in.

I know myself, and there is nothing you can say in this gaslighting that would mean anything to me.

You actually have the failure of self-awareness to posture like the only reasonable position is yours* while you won't listen to reasoning regarding why there would be a delay, no, you know better, you point to yourself as though the authority on such matters. *As you reiterate the same point over and over and get exercised because people consider the situation differently than you.
You have to give the other the same amount of space you want for yourself. It's a huge waste of energy, take a breath.

I can't imagine being as petulant as that about something so inconsequential as this. Everything you've done since that just reinforces the impression you produced.

Wow What goes on here? So many sore butts that need some cream.

rlared wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 8:24 pm NI said "Buy this product and we'll deliver everything to you now, except one product which we will delivery in February". Then after a bunch of people purchased, they changed it to "Actually it's going to be June". Regardless of what the reasons for the delay are, they committed something to their customers and didn't deliver.
So you'd rather have a bug-ridden pile of junk on time than a perfect, finished product when it's ready?
I can't think of any industry where that would result in customers NOT being upset.
It didn't seem to upset anyone who put a deposit on a Tesla Model 3.
rlared wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 8:55 pmI totally agree. My issue is that they took people's money and didn't deliver.
But they did deliver 95% of what those people paid for and then those people got a voucher to make up for the other 5%. So where, exactly, is the problem there? If I buy three items from a web-store and only two of them are in stock and they send the other one a month later, I don't care whether they charge my credit card all at once, as long as I get what I paid for when it's available. I pre-order eBooks on line all the time - they charge my credit card on the spot and I get the book when it's ready. No problem. Maybe the book gets to me on the day they said, maybe it doesn't, I don't care enough to know.
rlared wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 8:57 pmFor all the people who are OK with this, please Paypal me $100 and I'll deliver to you the greatest synth ever next month. Of course I reserve the right to delay it as much as I want to ensure quality.
AFAIK, nobody has pre-paid for Massive X, they have paid for Komplete 12 and all but one small part of that was delivered immediately. How do you not see the difference here? I'll give you another example. In 2004 I bought a new car and I wanted parking sensors with it, a dealer fitted option. The dealer had to order the parts in, which took about six weeks for some reason, but they took my money when they delivered the car. So think of Massive X as the parking sensors on my car.
rlared wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:24 pm OK apparently I live in an alternate universe where people expect vendors to meet delivery commitments.
Sure, if NI had not acknowledged the problem, i.e. not offered any form of apology or compensation, but, again, that's not the case here.

Thinking about it, the question that really needs to be asked is - who would rather NI took back all the bits of Komplete 12 they had already delivered and gave you your money back, not allowing you to buy it again until Massive X was ready? I'm thinking no-one. Because, from NI's point of view, that's the alternative - delay the whole thing or deliver what they can and get the rest out as soon as it's ready.

You think there aren't people just like you in every age group? You must be considerably less than half my age if you are that naive. If you want to see what a real shit-fight is, go and see how long Elektron have been promising a fixed version of Overbridge.
