This was also all possible in PolyKB1 version 1 (released 2010 ... i.e same year than Cypher1 )himalaya wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:48 pmThis was all possible in Cypher1 which was released years and years ago...also with analogue modeled oscillators, with waveform morphing, and real time, "dynamic" modulation by a long list of mod sources....Lotuzia wrote:If you're looking into the domain of analog modelled oscillators, none will take you further than Xils-Lab PolyKB III, with dynamic morphing of analog modelled waveforms.
From the site :
"The PolyKB III captures the sound and spirit of the legendary RSF PolyKobol 2 polyphonic synthesizer, including its most revolutionnary feature : Morphing analog Oscillators.
This set it apart from all the other common analog synth recreations, because you have instant access to hundreds of different analog modelled & free running oscillators waveforms. More than in other synthesizer, including those who propose switching between oscillators models. Icing on the cake, they can be dynamically modulated by many sources."
Synths with lots of tweaking / tuning on OSC before going into Filter section?

Sorry but modulation in Polykb1 cannot compare to Cypher1. Cypher destroys it totally I have not used the v2 versions but I doubt this has changed.Lotuzia wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:02 amThis was also all possible in PolyKB1 version 1 (released 2010 ... i.e same year than Cypher1 )himalaya wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:48 pmThis was all possible in Cypher1 which was released years and years ago...also with analogue modeled oscillators, with waveform morphing, and real time, "dynamic" modulation by a long list of mod sources....Lotuzia wrote:If you're looking into the domain of analog modelled oscillators, none will take you further than Xils-Lab PolyKB III, with dynamic morphing of analog modelled waveforms.

FYI: Cypher 1 (the whole DCAM Synth Squad package) was released in August 2009.

Some recommendationscowby wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2017 1:32 am Hi,
Just wondering what synths you think have a lot of tweaking capability on OSC section ? Avenger, Helix, Blue2, Omni2, Spectral just to name a few. I found that if the synth has lots of tweaking flexibility on the OSC section is better than they have tons of FX to choose.
So OSC, FX, Modulation, Filter .. Which section(s) you want more tweaking capability to create sound ? I will pick OSC + filter.

Discovery / Discovery Pro https://www.discodsp.com/discoverypro/
Corona https://www.discodsp.com/corona/
Vertigo https://www.discodsp.com/vertigo/ may be your favourite. It has up to 256 oscillators

FREE options with very flexible Oscillator sections
FuzzPilz - Oatmeal (with Lumina skin)
It's 32 bit only. Includes Wavedraw/Additive (switchable) with PWM option of the resulting oscillator shapes. Also has a seperate extensive noise section (with resonant filtering and tuning).
Vember Audio - Surge
Has recently gone free and open source. Includes Wavetables and various shaper/morph functions and 3 operator FM.
Seaweed Audio - Fathom
The MONO version is free. Includes Wavetable, Additive, Wave draw (Bezier curve options), various shaper/morph functions, FM, AM.
