Valhalla Ubermod, SpaceModulator and VintageVerb are all great.
Eqing before and/or after the reverb and delays can yield very different sounds ~ or ~ using filters modulating over time after spatial fx is nice.

If you're on the Mac, then you can't do much better than these freebies.
http://michaelnorris.info/software/soundmagic-spectral
Definitely worth donating for if you got the spare monies.
They are very powerful and ... quirky but if you take the time and explore them you'll be rewarded.

BYOME is absolutely fantastic for ambient/soundscape stuff.
It's great for adding just a bit of ambient vibe to sounds as well as transforming even the most simple sounds into a complete soundscape instantly.

LiquidSonics has some reverbs that can make some very Ambient sounds.
Here is an example of LiquidSonics-Illusion:

I like the dark side of B2 as well for some harmonic distortion and noisy and textures.
First seconds the "dry" sound source then just playing it a bit trough some custom made presets (sorry for not removing the clicks when changing presets).
But of course B2 can do so much more. It´s not just a reverb it´s a creative FX.

Blackhole and its automation capability is awesome for Ambient and other styles.

I know, Valhalla VintageVerb has already been mentioned (rightfully so), but I strongly encourage people to check out the "new" Chaotic Hall and Chaotic Chamber algorithms. The combination of the reverb and the tape saturation can do wonders for this kind of stuff, especially for dark ambiences and the like. The Chaotic Chamber algorithm is also surprisingly good for "putting things into a small room", if that makes any sense.

Yeah big user of the Chaotic modes, both are two of my favourites on VVV. I really like sanctuary, nonlin and smooth room as well.\Delta Sign wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 4:10 am I know, Valhalla VintageVerb has already been mentioned (rightfully so), but I strongly encourage people to check out the "new" Chaotic Hall and Chaotic Chamber algorithms. Vintage Verb has been my only reverb for a long time, recently however I've added the new Goodhertz MegaVerb as it does something very different. Well worth checking out as it creates really interesting spaces.

My biggest tip for anyone producing ambient. Honestly don't rely on just a effect you need to think more along the lines of what a good time stretching algorithm and layering will do for you. Oh and don't forget filtering..
