Nora isn't defining the notes though, the midi input into it is, and from my thinking it would have to do it in real time, so it wouldn't be very convenient for creating patterns. Maybe if Nora incorporated an internal chord track, where chords could be defined and statically understood by Nora without having midi fed from outside, Nora wouldn't be dependent on a stream of midi but have it already defined in the sequencer. I personally would love that, something along the lines of EZKeys circle of fifths chooser would be grand. Couple that with a global scale function and IMO Nora workflow would be even more special.kro1002 wrote:Adding note names on editor lines as a option would be appreciated!!

Braj is right, Nora will play notes relative to it's input and this feature its impossible due to design.
Anyway, I've read your ideas and if I see the chance to implement something similar to it in the future I will do for sure.

i have a different suggestion i may have mentioned before.
To be able to just change the midi channel on the playlist window itself. also just setting a master midi channel that would feed all 8 tracks.
this would speed up the process and have less mousing/click around the interface.
i have found that NORA seems best suited for use in FruityLoops than other DAWs.
thanks for such a great plugin!

I send one midi chord track to Nora in Studio One and it drives all the arp tracks. Maybe I am misunderstanding something. Just set every arp track's midi in to the same channel.

what i am talking about is not needing the pattern editor to setup the midi channels.braj wrote:I send one midi chord track to Nora in Studio One and it drives all the arp tracks. Maybe I am misunderstanding something. Just set every arp track's midi in to the same channel.
in fact just have each track default to midi channels 1 thru 8.
this is how one uses NORA with multichannel synths or Kontakt..

What I did is set them as I needed them, then made a default preset in my DAW and so now whenever I load Nora, they are all input on 1, output 1-8 like you are asking.nexussynth wrote:what i am talking about is not needing the pattern editor to setup the midi channels.braj wrote:I send one midi chord track to Nora in Studio One and it drives all the arp tracks. Actually it is really great that Nora leaves this up to the preset level info, that gives it a lot more flexibility than if it were a global setting. Just get the default behavior how you need it, save a preset, then change it as necessary.

Having a global input midi channel would add some complexity for the final user. The best approach is indeed, save a project and open it from the project page of the browser: that's why it was created, to allow you have multiple setups and quickly recall them.
