hi

I am experimenting with linking my 2 DAWs together.

I monitor everything via the analogue outs of DAW 2 (multiface) but use SX2 as the primary recording sequencer (DAW 1).

Therefore music generated on DAW 2 (e.g. giga, FLS) is sent back to DAW 1 for mixing before being sent back out to DAW 2 for monitoring (with the main SX2 master mix).

Would system link give me any advantages over just linking the machines physically e.g. via audio and midi cables ?

My connections are :

DAW 1

ADAT 1 In plugstation+sw1000 (clock source)
ADAT 1 Out to DAW 2 (monitoring)

DAW 2

ADAT In DAW 1 (monitoring)
ADAT Out DAW 1 (giga, FLS etc. back to DAW 1)

Whatever I've selected as ASIO In and Out on both DAWs's system link the other machine won't appear in the box at the bottom of the sys link window.

And when I try self test every transmitted signal is matched by an error signal (no input received).

Can anyone help my befuddled brain on this one ?
