Help with cantabile and keyboard midi...

Hi Everyone, Im new to the forum so don't be tooo harsh!
I have a very basic Casiom LK210 which has USB midi, Which I as the end product would like to be able to use with some Hammond VTS's using Cantabile :) :) :)
But annoyingly there is one problem stuck in the way, When I press a note on the keyboard, It sticks , Almost like someone is stood on a imaginary susatain!

Here is my cantabile log to explain it abit more (As you can see the note is on but it doesnt turn off!)

Yes the keyboard has the same problem with Ableton Live 8, And Miditzer Style 216.

I don't think your Cantabile log can help then.

Suggest you try another keyboard and see if that works. If it does..... time to call Casio, I'm afraid.

Before you buy a new keyboard, maybe re-check your cables. Try to use a different and shorter cable. Not sure about your casio but in case it is usb bus powered such devices can be more critical on cables as well as on power from the pc. Finally avoid usb hubs for tests and check with usb cable straingt into your pc.

You can also try "MidiOx" a free midi monitoring tool to see what your keyboard sends to the pc. Stuck notes are created by "NoteOn" commands that are not finished by a corresponding "NoteOff" when you release the related key.

Are you using plug&play midi drivers or a dedicated midi driver from casio?

If your keyboard has traditional midi out maybe it's worth borrowing an external midi/usb interface and check the connection via this different path.

I am using the midi drivers that came on the disc with my keyboard, And I may try using a different usb cable tommorow when im less tired!

YAYAYAYAYAY, with your advice with the usb ports, I moved my webcam to a usb 2 port and put the keyboard on usb 3 and it worked fineeee!!!!!!!!!!!]

I am always glad to help saving money! :wink:

PC's and related software can sometimes behave odd.

Maybe you installed the midi drivers while having connected your keyboard at this port and changed cables later... different usb cables itself can make a difference too, I 've experienced that myself - being puzzled by the fact that the cables looked to be of similar quality.
