well...it will below 100 but more then 50..hows that? Its due to the custom modules and lots of extra work on this baby.( and we have another member on board ..David H, doing custom modules for us) so..thats why...but it will be a package deal.. TWO SYNTHS...a PD and a VA..so two flavours.

Ooops. Not quite so. I probably should have made this clear earlier. Two flavours was just the original idea. After some time I thought it would a better idea to combine the different types of synthesis, for more interesting result.

So, there will be no 2 seperate synths, just one.
Not necessarily bad, because like i said it now offers three types of synthesis: VA, PD and FM, plus the various combinations of it.

VA = Virtual Analog
PD = Phase Distortion

M42 versus M51.
Lots of differences, really. To name a few: 8 stage envelopes, 2 warps, PD and VA oscillators with FM. Also, the effects and warps can be mixed in/out by simply sending a CC, at a controllable rate.

Mmm ... nice dem. Much more edgy than M42. Not the same synth at all.

Your writing technique is interesting.

Record a shedload of presets and slap them together later into a composiiton.

Makes me feel I'm too Cubase bound

Long ago, I seemed to recall that it is non-trivial to replace the M42 sf2 oscillator with VA and vice versa, but that was a long time ago. What about now?

Actually, it would be the other way around..add more of the waveforms to M42, and that would make a great M42 update.

However, the way it is now..the M51 is in a class by itself. Our original intention was to do a super CZ synth ( as the Dr really likes PD!) and it kept going and going and now we have a galaxy of a synth now. Finishing up the manual, so maybe pretty soon .

Hi,
No...not exactly...
In fact each synth is made of 2 small synths: a PD one, and a VA one.
The PD one has no filter (PD needs no filter), but it has a very simular parameter: phase modulation.
The VA does have a filter of course, and it's the same one as used in the M42. (12 dB/oct with LP/HP/BP/AP).
The two outputs are then added through a small mixer with level adjusts.
The MOD/AMP enevelopes are shared by both.
The PD osc can frequency modulate the VA osc.
So what you get is really three types of synthesis: PD, VA and FM.

but a quick explanation those rythmic chugging synth sounds you hear in tims track are totem sounds
