Sneak Preview: TSW Sample/Preset Expansion

On August 8 we´ll release "The Second Wave" Sample/Preset Expansion, and here are some details about it.

The Expansion is a 450+ MBs set of samples, mainly multisamples, and 2 Preset Banks plus a third Bonus Preset bank which is designed by the T3 group.

As you can hear there are Grand Pianos, Orchestrals and ready-to-use Layers and even Chords. This is an improvement of the current TSW concept and the beginning of a new TSW age. Surely the Presets banks will consider some pads too, but the new direction is about acoustic instruments, synth stacks and specific synths, orchestral scenes, drum kits.

Do you have to own TSW to get the expansion?
Do you have to be a licenced owner of the TSW + WE or is just the soundset fine?

The TSW Expansion is thought for TSW as it´s a further development of the TSW concept, but of course it can be used with WS, vox´d, Manystation.

Today I´ll unveil some more details. The mentioned MB size is the wusiksnd data. I´ve did another mp3 to look a littler closer to some samples and concept ideas.

The mp3 is here http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=843 . Below is a complete sample list and I´ll comment the sounds used for the mp3.

The first is Tapis Magique, this multisample is a stack of several synthesizers. It stands for the whole Synth Layer category. You don´t need two or three slots in WS or TSW VST to get a really full sound and this saves slots and CPU. This makes the way open to use WS / TSW as multitimbral VST, especially when used with multi-outputs. Each slot can be assigned with an own MIDI Channel ... This means you can use WS / TSW as a workstation.

The second audio example is the Fazer Pad, it´s a 1-Key-Chord, again only one WS / TSW slot, played with one finger. And it´s sustain-looped too, I´ve left the note a while, so you can hear this. And as you see in the list below: There are more 1-Key-Chords.

Third example is the Solo Violin, which stands for the Acoustic Instruments the TSW Expansion provides. Listen to the move to the lower key ranges and you can hear that it changes to the Viola and the Cello range as well and the multisample sounds still consistent.

Fourth audio example is the 303 Mega Loop. Yes, there are loops inside. The filter of the wusik-engine is nice, but others are sometimes nicer, so loops like this one sound a little better when produced with hardware and then sampled for the use in WS / TSW.

Last example: An Oberheim Lead Synth. Now we´re going in-depth with the focus on specific Synths. Recently there was a thread at wusik.com forum (or Manytone?, I don´t remember ...) with the request for in-depth synth sample libraries. So this is a part of it, and this TSW Expansion has another focus on FM sounds too. As you might imagine this TSW Expansion is just a beginning, so more and more of those Synths-on-demand will appear with later Expansions.
