I have this melody notes: C#, G#, F#, E, D#, C#, E, F#, E, D#, F#, C#,E, C#
I have hear something like: you look at which note is ending the melody and that is givind the tonality , so the last note is the key, after you look at the tone and semitone so you will know if is major or minor" according to this the above melody is in C# Maj. I am not sure if this is correctly, what you guys think?

No, the E makes it minor.

I don't understand man.
Can you give me some links where I can see some music theory?

However, context is everything, so this melody line alone won’t necessarily determine the key. What else is going on in the piece of music?

So I played the first five notes and it reminded me of Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel.

But the sheet music for that is in E minor, and yours would put it into C# minor - But then of course the original very old song is in A minor.

Or so I thought until I went to Stack Exchange and they are arguing if it is in Dorian or something else.

Anyways, I also think your piece is in C# minor.
