Please take a look at my program Musical Palette - Melody Composing Tool.
The program is based on the composition theory and harmony theory.
There is demo that shows how to use the program and how to compose.
The site of the program is located here:

Musical Palette 3.7 has more advanced interface. Idea of the new program is very simple intuitive interface.stanlea wrote:What's the differences between the 2 programs ?

I love it!!!
The theory document is excelent for learning how to make melodies!
Please add more to the chord page. E.g. samples, examples and sections for teh progression rules.

Nice tool (3.7), although I found it lacking in the ability to make edits (copy, paste, move, rearrange) and generally navigate about.
For example, it would be nice if in the upper overview window (motive pallet) you could move/copy/swap/click audition individual motives.
Specifically, in one goaround with it I found I actually liked a section of motives in backward succession, but rearranging them as such proved impossible - I ended up trying to recreate it from scratch, but then it wouldn't allow a certain chord voicing where I wanted it on the third section, and I couldn't copy it directly from the original motive section, so I gave up. (edit - discovered clicking the "chord reset" button in the chord window gave me back the chord I was after)
I would definately purchase something like this should these abilities be enhanced, and even moreso if it integrated into my host as a VST.

The component with structure of the melody in the left part of the main window allows to navigate through the period.1-2-Many wrote:... generally navigate about

Thank you. Demo version does not allow export melody to the *.mid format.Optomadic wrote: The audio/midi demos sound absolutly outstanding. What are the demo limitations?

Is there a way to create tempo and key changes? What about a time signature other than 4/4?
Also, an auto framing feature would be nice in the main window, for example if I click on motive 4, contiguous motives should be clickable. It would also be nice to have this main window somewhat scaleable.
