Yes it is open source, you can download sources from github. You can get there when you click on "Paraphrasis" at the left (Product name) at its product KVR page. Or, here is direct link to a release 1.0.3 which I am currently working on https://github.com/VirtualAnalogy/Parap ... ease-1.0.3 (which is a little bit ahead of the testing version I provided you).blurk wrote:Thanks for that; it does work on my 10.7 installation. I only remembered afterwards that since this is open source I should (in principle) be able to build this myself, but your upload saved me the effort.

Paraphrasis is pretty useful and could be an alternative to Kontakt and other samplers like that, in certain situations, imho.
One thing to report though is that I have to stop REAPER before I press Paraphrasis's ANALYZE button or else REAPER will crash. Not really a problem because how many different bass sounds does a typical tune require?

Thanks for bug report and video! This issue is hopefully already fixed, but I need to fix one or two for 1.0.3 release. So stay tuned!harryupbabble wrote:One thing to report though is that I have to stop REAPER before I press Paraphrasis's ANALYZE button or else REAPER will crash. Congratulations, looking from real perspective and that is that we all still have our list of favorites means its all good Numbers are just numbers anyway.
It was hard to decide, personally narrow down the list to 8 entries and made decision last day. Paraphrasis was/is on top of my list.
Felt a little bit guilty not to be able to help with vote to some but Im glad to see some of them made it without my help.
Thanks to all participants!

Hey guys, anybody who is willing to test Paraphrasis 1.0.3, please email me at support(a)virtualanalogy.com. I will send you a test version in couple of days (now fixing hopefully latest bug - though one). Sorry about the delay with this update - synthesis was rewritten because of optimisations - to make it possible to use Parahrasis in live setting with small buffers + many fixed bugs and Mac OS X compatibility improved!

I think that the capability to open .scl Scala files in order to use non-standard microtonal tunings would be an important addition to Paraphrasis, if possible.

Yes, Scala files support is on my mind for veeery long time. Unfortunatelly I am pretty busy right now, hopefully will have some time to update Paraphrasis in near future.

Thank you for your answer, I'm glad to know that you have the same idea! (And I understand what being very busy means…)

Meanwhile some ppl still dreaming of windows version (x64 too). I know about licensing issue with win version but an "unofficial" version would be welcome

The development of the paraphrasis plugin seems to have stopped. It is sad. I have downloaded the Win32 ddl, but no luck with a Win64 ddl. My DAW traction waveform dropped 32bit support... (and I don't like the cakewalk complexity, or bridges)
The paraphasis; it would be nice if somebody would continue with this project
* it does good enough job in resynthesising a sample
* needs Win32/64 ddl's compiled
* needs normal sampler/sample player controls
