Not bad. Definately something completely different. Well above average in execution and totally out of the box compositionally, yet accessably musical. Thanks for sharing.ATS wrote:here is a song I did using only Sampletank 2 XL

Feel free to check out my tunes, though only my newest song, "Crystal Dream", applies to this topic, really. It was made using mostly OmniSynth sounds, the only SR product I had at the time. Since then I've acquired the Studio Drum Capsule, so my next songs will surely include that one too.
The drums and synth 'rhythms' were made using other stuff, but everything else is OmniSynth.
It's a sort of atmospheric techno song or something like that.

This is a great ad for Omnisynth! Really good production as well.

I take it back, the rock-flavored drums at the end of the song are OmniSynth, the main techno drums aren't.Arglebargle wrote:The drums and synth 'rhythms' were made using other stuff

The synth sounds have a "non-GM" quality about them (depth and richness).

Heh, the image of GM has been ruined by those horrible lo-fi dead sounds that come with a typical soundcard.
OmniSynth shows that GM is not a level of sound quality, but merely a set of instrument specifications.

Hi Guys,
this is the first time I've posted music here. This is a track I'm working on for an instumental worship CD. Everything is Sampletank 2XL except the guitar part. I intend to have a friend replace the flute part with real playing and to tidy up the percussion part. Hope you like it.

I especially liked the strings and the percussion. They sound great and sit well in the mix. You recorded the guitar really well, too.

Just a random thought, I was going to make a thread like this.
Good thing I didn't, I would've felt like an idiot.

Thanks man I was a little concerned that my link wouldn't work correctly but it obviously did. Thanks again.DKeenum wrote:I especially liked the strings and the percussion. They sound great and sit well in the mix. You recorded the guitar really well, too.

Hey, I just uploaded a new song to my Soundclick page.
It's a remix of the Zeal theme from the video game Chrono Trigger. If you're not familiar with the transcendental music of Chrono Trigger, I pity you.
With the exception of the synth lead, this song was done using OmniSynth, Studio Drum Capsule, and ST2 Free sounds exclusively.

Ahh;
Rochdale
The Sonic Synth Old Record piano (me fave) plus some rather overwrought and slightly badly recorded crooning...like a bridge over troubled donkey as as one of me 'mates' had it... . Ahh, there may be a bit of m-tron flute on there too, but you can ignore that.

I really like the sound of that piano. Nice sustain. I sounds a little like an upright to me.
