yup that works a treat! Thanks darkstar. I took a close look, and it seems to do great cuts on a bar/measure basis. Not so sure it would work as well if you tried to do it for every beat, as it appears that not every hit is quantized per se, and it might end up chopping some hits short here and there, but for my use, this method works great.

I will try to combine them into one command later, I've never tried that before, but as it is now, I set the "A" key to move one measure, and as you say "S" to split. Easy to remember as they are side by side. Quick too.

Thanks again! :)
Cheers

There's a "Split at previous zero crossing" Action too - that might be better. Type "split" (without the quotes) into the Filter box in the Action window to see what's available

You guys are awesome. I love that you are all appreciating DrummerTracks as much as I do and sharing great ideas on how to use them in DAWS. As a gift to you, if you don't already have it, anyone reading this thread can have a FREE DrummerTracks PROMO if they don't already have it.

It's this one: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... DTKVR32011

All you have to do is email allen (at) esoundz (dot) com and mention that "Squids said I could have this one for free this month" and he'll put it into your esoundz user area. That will give you a GREAT idea of what they're like and then you can confidently pick up the DrummerTracks 10-Pack which is still on sale for half price.

or any of the individual titles.

I have another useful tip for using DrummerTracks as practise tracks...

Get Amazing Slow Downer! It is a fantastic piece of software (for both Mac and PC) which allows you slow down and speed up audio tracks (and/or adjust the pitch) while maintaining a decent quality sound. Many guitarists (including myself) use this product to slow down recordings to figure out parts by ear and/or to practise sections of songs. You can loop sections easily to focus on a particular bar or 2.

In the case of DrummerTracks, you could play any DrummerTrack at any tempo which might be useful if you want to start practising something slow and then speed it up as you become better at it. Also, the track will automaticaly loop and start playing again when it is finished... so if you are across the room strumming your guitar, the DrummerTrack will keep doing it's thing for you at whatever tempo you set it at.

This is seriously a must-have product for any musician. Well worth the small price tag.

Just click on "Amazing Slow Downer" or on the "Software" link to the right, and then click on the "For more detailed information about Amazing Slow Downer..." link.

Have fun! :)

Well, if we can get a bit of a DrummerTracks user community going here in the KVR Sonic Reality/esoundz forum then I might pull out a few surprises such as free completely unreleased DrummerTracks and other assorted things. Plus I'll share news about some upcoming new DrummerTracks.
