I just resaved all of the Ken Scott collection and OWD SE and the freeze is gone! Plus the load time in 4.2 is dramatically faster.

the dreaded freeze on the IP multis seems to be gone with Win7 64 bit version at least. (Can't test on anything else.)

It's true, also in XP 32bit, and this is the proof that what Squids said was true: the problem was in NI's side. Kontakt 4.2 update is just great, in performance and in the new mixer routing macros. The Infinite Player's drum libraries are now even better thanks to this.
