Hello,
This question may be a bit confusing.
I know how to sidechain a reverb or delay to keep it from muddying a source signal. I like using reverb/delay sends and adjusting input from inserts so I can use less plugins per project.
My question is, how can I combine these two things, or what is the best way to combine these two things?
For example, say I have a synth insert, a piano insert, and a vocal insert all being routed to the same reverb bus. I want to duck that reverb for each independently. How would I accomplish this? I googled return busses as I feel like that may be what I'm seeking, but not sure.
Thanks!

Nm, I figured it out, I believe I'm erroneously calling my returns "sends." I routed each track's mixer channel to an intermediate channel (send) which then goes to the fx busses (return). I can compress and eq the sends. I think my terms are now correct, but if not, I figured out what I was trying to do in any case.
Sure would be nice if all plugins had sidechain/ducking features built in!
