I really love FL Studio at the moment - it's getting better all the time!
However - it would be great if we could record live MIDI playing with quantize + swing at the same time.
The only way you can really use Swing is when using the Step Sequencer - unless you start to mess around with offline quantize in the piano roll.
Another useful idea would be if we could "convert" piano roll data to Step Sequencer data!!!
This would be great for monophonic bass lines, sequencer parts, drums (with transposed notes like Toms), etc.
The Step Sequencer allows you to carry out "cruder" sequencing than the piano roll but it is still very useful.
Another bonus would be being able to save an instrument channel, effects and single score pattern as a single item.
This would be great for the drag + drop workflow.
For example, you save a house piano part that you have just played live...
Perhaps a 16 bar pattern using the Korg M1 VST plugin, some freeware plate reverb and a bit of EQ.
Save this as a single "Idea" file or whatever - and then you can just drag + drop this into the song arrangement...
Then FL automatically loads the instrument, the effects (on the next available "empty" mixer channel) and the score into the next available blank pattern.
