Sakura is unplayable on Mac

Much as I love Sakura I am finding on Mac it is effectively unusable - crashes all the time, all hosts, vst and au versions. Sometimes I just have to play one note and it freezes.

Just to give an idea of how buggy this is - I just loaded it into Reaper in "buggy plugin compatibility mode", in its own dedicated process, loaded one patch and it played for about 2 seconds then froze and I still had to force quit Reaper too as nothing would play after that.
