hi there, quick question : i'm struggling to find a clear answer as to how many 8cv's can be connected to the es40 ?

also, i have an es8 as well, am i correct in assuming that by connecting the es5 to the es8, i could add 8cv modules to the es8 as well ? if so, how many maximum ?

: i have an es40, an es8 and two 8cv's, all most recent mk, am looking for maximum amount of cv outputs, while taking up as little space in the rack as possible .. i have an rme fw400 and an rme digiface, so enough of adat and toslink options to feed, and of course direct usb to the es40 ..

thanks for your help !

Five.

Yes.

Six, or five if you want to use the ES-5's own outputs.

ES-5 = everything -but- CV coming out of the outputs, correct ?

Yes.

Excellent, thank you !

ah, of course, wondering about two more things :

if one goes the route ; es8 -> es5 > 5x 8cv

- what does this mean for the analogue outputs of the es8 ?
- how far down are we muxing the signal in terms of khz ?

thanks !

The ES-5 rides on channels 7/8 of the ES-8, so it's one or the other.

Sample rate information is as on the web page:
"In order to squeeze eight 12 bit channels through one 8 bit connection, the channels are time-multiplexed and so effectively run at between one-third and one-twenty fourth of the audio sample rate."
