It is a quirk of my music system that I do not use note-off messages. I always set sustain to 0. It's just easier to manage that way.
I'm thinking about buying MUX, but I'm having trouble getting it to work correctly without note-off messages. It thinks that every note remains open until it eventually runs out of polyphony and stops responding.
Is there a way around this? Maybe there is a way to configure voice stealing, so if it runs out of polyphony it will reuse the first voice again?
Thanks,
-Bill
Is MUX usable without Note-Off messages? Voice stealing?

MUX PolySynth does apply voice stealing, but it does rely on note-offs (and all note off) messages for properly ending voices. Setting sustain to zero will not end a voice.

I guess the issue is the event could be routed anywhere from the Event In - not necessarily through an envelope that's controlling an Audio Out - so it's not easy to know when it's finished with unless there's an explicit follow up to say "done"...
