Been playing with the new Mux, so far encountered no real problems. It is very stable, works with old patches and those created in mulab 8. Patches saved with Mux VST are also loading happily into mulab 8 without problems.

Been playing with the new Front Panel editing options -
Spotted an issue in Windows, using Cubase (v7.5) wrt the Colour picker, and the Slider and knob editors:-
- when clicking anywhere other than on these windows cubase sends them to the back i.e. behind the main cubase window.
With the colour picker you have to close and open it again to bring it back, with the editors they just remain in the background.
This makes them difficult to use without an extra screen to move them onto - outside of the main window area of cubase.
- Bitwig Studio 8-track exhibits a similar issue, pushing them to the back, though it provides a mulab icon on the task bar to recall them.
- Tracktion Waveform displays them properly, keeping the windows in the foreground

The behaviour of open windows on the modular area etc work as expected in all three DAWs, and so do the front panel parameter editors, so this is probably due to a fundamental difference in the way the new front panel editors work.

Using Cubase 7.5:
A dialog causes cubase to freeze. Have to use task manager to shut it down and lose the session.
Specifically its the "embed/save/save as/ignore" dialog which pops up when a linked audio file has been edited with DSP functions and changes have not been saved to the audio file before saving the project or exiting the DAW.

If the audio file is embedded this dialog does not appear so the project saves fine.

This only happens with Cubase - again checked Tracktion Waveform and Bitwig Studio and they are ok

Colouring of modules on the front panel:
There is one module which completely ignores its colour settings and always remains default - its the 'Plug-In Slot" module, found in Modules-Others.
Its nothing to do with the update though, this module has always ignored colour settings. Would be nice to fix it though :)

I'm researching this.

Is there a log file of this? If yes please email it to me.

One little question about Audio Sequence: I noticed that Pitchbend datas weren't recognized. I suppose this is the way Audio Sequence isdesigned (not a sampler).

Indeed.

M8.2.10 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • Knob/Slider editor windows and Project Color Picker window now keep floating on top even when clicking the host window.
  • When loading older MUX presets, knobs/sliders were still using the knobs/sliders of the previous preset. Fixed.
  • When editing a MUX front panel and the knob/slider editor is open, then upon ending front panel editing the the knob/slider editor is auto closed too.
  • Optimized the MUX file format wrt saving custom front panel knobs/sliders. This also affects project files. Also see the practical note below.
  • When pasting audio events in the MIDI editor, a warning alert is shown, as this is a non recommended operation.
  • Module Slot now properly uses its defined front panel color.
  • The non-linear (slow start, fast end) fade out of audio events was not applied correctly, curve was too steep. Fixed.
  • Popup lists now also use the prefered popup menu colors.
  • Other small improvements.
How to update:
Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)

Note: Please update any projects and presets you made with a previous M8.2 beta version to this new M8.2.10. Upgrading a project/preset means loading that project/preset and then simply saving it again. That way the saved file is updated to the new M8.2 file format.

M8.2.12 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • Support for an alternative user folder: Until now the user folder was fixed to the "User" sub-folder in the application folder. Now this can be overwritten by a special text file. Details on http://www.mutools.com/info/M8/docs/com ... ences.html
  • When on startup the user folder doesn't exist or is not writable then the system app data folder is used. Also see the same doc page for details.
  • Log files are now saved in the {UserFolder}/LogFiles
  • Other small improvements.
How to update:
Windows: Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)

This fix is a huge deal for me personally - Had Mux in my Program Files / VST Subfolder and it'll always kick up a fuss about the folder not being writable and I couldn't really use the application fully because of this restriction. So .... thanks :tu:
