How to limit voices of Sample Player?

Is there a way to limit the polyphony of the Sample Player? So If it's set to 1 the playing sample is being cut of by the new sample.

You could build a mono-sampler in a polysynth like the image I attached.

I see, so if I would like to chain a poly sampler and a mono sampler I would have to embed a Polysyth (with a mono sampler) within a polysynth with poly enabled.
