Hi all,
is it possible to step-record MIDI using MuLab's virtual MIDI keyboard?
I've tried the following:
-turn on MuLab's virtual MIDI Keyboard
-open a sequence editor of a chosen instrument
-open "Step Recorder"
I type on my keys, I can hear the notes being played, but nothing is being recorded. If I click record button in the transport bar, everything I play is being recorded, but in the usual fashion, not in "step-recording" fashion.
Could anyone please help me with this?
Cheers,
Rokas

This is a great idea. At my former company we made a step recorder for music notation. To keep note lengths separate, one clicked different keys.
Here, I am thinking that pressing one key while playing the note could give a quarter note, pressing another key while playing the note could give an eighth note etc. So right hand for note input and left hand for determining note length.
...and as a bonus: pressing no key at all with the left hand would result in playing only, ie no recording. That way, people who are not great with note intervals could check out different notes (or melodies) before recording. That would be just wow.
