You can save a template called "New" and that'll be the default new project you use. You can save anything you like in it, to suit your preferred workflow. (Mine has two racks and starts in the modular area, as that's what I tend to start with.)

How can I add a MIDI FX Plugin to an instrument/track in MuLab? I'm currently demoing something really cool by Feel Your Sound . . . re-generates cools patterns/arps/etc on existing MIDI sequences. I tried to simply add this MIDI FX beneath synth VST on rack thingy, but it cuts out the sound. Help!!
