android & tablet to MIDI

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a touchscreen tablet to be used JUST for Tablet 2 midi. From your description it's not clear if it works well also with touchscreen / google android tablets or just with graphic tabs.

The idea is to use the tablet as a multi x/y pad for my laptop, since buying a cheap Chinese tablet will cost me the same as Korg nanopad, which has just one small x/y pad It's such a shame nobody is producing a cheap device which is just an x/y controller.....

Is it going to do the job with a 7" android 2.2 tablet?
That would be great, I could set an image on the tablet screen to visualize each controller in different colors...

Any suggestions?
