And here we are nearly 10 years later...

Perhaps they should have hired 10 more developers for the costs of this nice and pretty tour bus :tu:

1. I want to leave orchestration and other rape of FLS out of the focus here just because I think one must be (forgive me the strong words, I mean this more in a funny way) brain amputated for choosing FL Studio for such a task as it brings really nothing on the table which is suitable for that respectively could bring a benefit over other solutions...

And here comes the biggest question: Will this in a foreseeable future change or at least getting better?? :help:

Hm, of course, there are some guys already using it for orchestration - one of them created that BRSO Articulate plugin.
I guess FL studio piano roll is very useful, if you want to click all the midi with a mouse (I'm not sure that it's the most powerful/or the fastest at this point, but it's one of the good ones .)

My friend, I'm pretty sure that it's easier to create an organized orchestral score in FL (if you work like this guy) than something like a dubstep song - where you need tons of automations and copies of instrument synths for the different synth sound effects and wobbles. (I for sure almost had a nervous breakdown once when I tried it and decided never to produce dubstep in FL - it's just too many mouse clicks for trivial tasks like you said earlier.)

nevermind... it´s not worth the discussion...

btw. yepp, ghosting between patterns would be a warmly welcomed feature, this is the only feature which I constantly miss from it

Someone made a good review of FL here: www.admiralbumblebee.com (along with reviews of other daws).

Here is one good quote: "I’ve rarely found people taking advantage of what FLStudio’s workflow offers. Most people treat it like a ‘normal’ style DAW, except with 3x the work to get things setup." :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

The review of modulation tools in FL is good:

https://www.admiralbumblebee.com/music/ ... ation.html

I doubt that 99 % of the edm, hip-hop and electronic pop-dance producer (I guess that these three categories are the biggest part of the userbase) use these modulation tools.
It's just way harder to use them than let's say the modulation tools in Bitwig. You need to think more how are you going to structure your project before you start it (probably taking advantage of Patcher to reduce the mess) and organization is always more chaotic in FL.

But I think it depends on how they execute that functionality. In Ableton, for instance, they implemented in a awful way imho. All clips' notes are editable once you engage 'multi clip edit' and you can't playback the piano roll in the middle of it.

the other side of the coin: you don't gonna play weeks just with tweaking knobs without any real-progress

making modulation in FL is not great but not terrible ... , easy to find a good sounding one but not so easy to modify it later .... perfect :D

Not intuitive but you can start playback from wherever you want with alt/option spacebar
