Isn’t that sign of being special?e@rs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 2:18 pmWell, they didn't just pick me from the crowd because I'm special... We kept in touch from the beginning of the campaign.
I’m just a good client (=invest a lot of money), but obviously the vendor has other idea, which makes the client special.
Not that I was jealous.

The Steinberg site is finally back online today after being offline for two days. I wonder whose idea it was to schedule maintenance on the last day of the Anniversary sale.

Ryan: I'm kinda computer illiterate so I'll blame Cubase for my porn.vst error and general piss-poor knowledge on how to troubleshoot something relatively easy to isolate.
World: stay away from computers -- back to stomp boxes and axes for you.
Cubase Rah Rah Rah baby!

I'm almost looking forward to the first time you get "steinberged"
My read on the video is that he's happy with S1, got the cubase upgrade just to see, and isn't particularly bothered to try to figure it out. it's fair as far as that goes, but I obviously don't agree that Cubase is a "pile of hot steaming garbage" or whatever he said.
But it does remind me of a couple years ago, when Cubase would hang every time I opened the media bay, which at that time was a real problem since there was no other browser for loops and stuff, you HAD to sync your stuff to the media bay, or be stuck dragging things in from the OS. obviously there was some file or loop cubase didn't like, but there was no ability to see what file was causing the issue. luckily I paid for an upgrade 9 or 9.5, I forget, that added the directory tree to the browser. I still don't use the media bay for anything other than included content because of it. pretty sure whatever cubase doesn't like is still in there, and pretty sure it still isn't going to let me know what it is, and pretty sure I'm not going to pore through thousands of loops looking for the culprit, despite the fact that I am capable of doing the troubleshooting

Core issues with any new software happens in the early part after installation, or after an update, and even then most stem from human error or computer itself having been subjected to all sorts of porn.vst, email.dummy.opened, unknownsite.visit, iboughtadell.noideathehardware, unsecure.browser.whatsanextension, iusemypcforeverything.and.so.do.my.kids, idontuseclonesoftware.unprepared, etc.
I couldn't be happier man, Cubase ticks every box I ever wanted, and rolls out the red carpet of features I never knew I needed, with lightning fast workflow and I'm barely scratching the surface -- there won't be any issues in MY future I'm unable to handle. Ryan and any other pc.illiterate otoh.. good luck, but you may want to reconsider calling something garbage, especially while being videoed and posting on YT, if you have little to no knowledge on the subject.

It seems like the dude in the "FAQ" video has no idea how to find out what's causing a hang on his system. He could try and get a clue or hire an assistant.

I thought it was funny to post it. Now, he's using a Mac, that could be part of his problemShawnG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:15 am I'm almost looking forward to the first time you get "steinberged"

Not knowing where shit is on a Mac is one problem. I told him on that video's page where to find it. I'm seeing this pretty expensive looking setup and he doesn't know how to troubleshoot his issue, so the problem existing between keyboard and chair is made to be the software's fault. Typical.
Like the lion's share of complaints regarding stability or bugginess, it's the plugin causing an issue. And a whole lotta people have some real dodgy shit on their machine
I remember Cubase 5 would be disrupted at times by Media Bay (not that I recall how or why, it probably did hangs) and since I never used it, I turned the number of things it can scan down to 10. Now I leave it at default.
I'm using a Mac and I don't have a whole lot of problems (nor any of the numerous problems specific to Windows which aren't PEBKAC), and it's not because I'm all that technical or have access to special knowledge.
