With VA-Cable, Ableton crashed all the time, not sure why it didn't like it. Need to test it more.

I could really use a system wide ASIO host for windows that could load VST plugins such as Headphone/Monitor Correction/Canopener/Equalizers/Etc.The few current available solutions are difficult to setup/might not utilize ASIO/might not be stable/Apple MAC only {Audio Hijack}. Any current Windows Host would be fine if it include these features. I searched for this type of Host many times. At one point I thought Reaper would have these features but somehow I gave up. Most everyone has read any number of posts that basically reads do we really need another Compressor/Equalizer. Either I am biased and falsely believe that a market for this exists or this type of Host is somehow prohibited by regulations.

I still haven't found (nor I was searching to much honestly) an app that could truly replace AudioHijack in Windows. Something that in few ways replaces it for me is Voicemeter from VB Audio. It has an ok interface, some virtual routing capabilities. Not able to run any 3rd party plugins tho. But in some scenarios it does the job.
Though I do agree chaibuka, the niche for this kind of app (e.g. AudioHijack) on Window is still open for grabs.

The audio system in the Mac, and the things it enables such as the Rogue Amoeba tools (Audio Hijack, Loopback, Sound Source), is the one thing keeping me on the Mac.

I do live broadcasts, along with recording, mixing, and effects. Sometimes even with remote guests via Skype, all tied to a local PA with multiple mikes, etc., such that certain audio is routed to the PA, certain to the broadcast and recording. The broadcast gets effects, but the local PA, Skype, and recording do not. The routing on this gets extremely complex, and in a normal broadcast setup would require multiple PCs or some rather high-end hardware that I cannot afford.

All of this is effortless using Audio Hijack and Loopback, on a single Mac, plus a Scarlett 8i8, and a Mackie power mixer. I've looked long and hard for something in Windows that can do what AH does. Nothing comes close.
