Can Bitwig modulate Reaper? Can Bitwig modulate my soup? Can Reaper be scripted to cook a soup modulated by Bitwig?
There is so much to explore...

Next poll: which soup do you hate?

Post

carrot and coriander.

Post

You never tried my version of it! Fresh coriander though... I usually modulate it with Pumkin (ha, whenever I shall program a plugin, I’ll call it Pumpkin...) and a lfo will stir it...

hmmm, that's easy, REAPER without a doubt, worst DAW ever, and certainly the Fugliest. How anyone can stand looking at it for any period of time, and how their retinas aren't burnt out if they try is beyond me, Then out of the blue you get hit with that great Windows 95 look when you open certain parts like adding FX etc, talk about flashback, like as if the general appearance wasn't bad enough . . . scary $h!t !!! REAPER should come with a pair of industrial strength welders glasses/goggles for people to wear to protect their vision.

Then you got those freakin hideous menus lol, and not to mention the reliance on many obscure 3rd party scripts for functionality, a lot of which have issues, or don't work, or cease to work properly when something changes within REAPER itself and the script fails and is no longer updated by it's creator etc. Same with the themes, most don't work 100%, always some annoyance, and then same ols thing again, when something changes in the program and the theme is no longer actively developed, or just straight out part finished and abandoned themes, scripts and addons etc.

Far to much reliance on flaky user made amateur 3rd party addons to get the job done.

Yep, a worthy winner of the most hated DAW, REAPER.

No surprises that the most popular DAWs are the most hated - doesn't really make sense as a poll, you'd have to scale it by number of active users...

It's also true for ableton's m4l. Even ableton's stock one has an issue that drags your daw into crash. Was the m4l full integration of version 10 really good? It means it opens up your door for alien into your mothership.

For best results you'll need two LFOs, preferably sine or triangle waves, with phases in quadrature. Apply one to X-axis, one to Y-axis, and Bob's somebody's uncle.

Post

I'd have 2 go with,

Reaper
Sonar/Cakewalk By Bandlab

not sure if in that order, but definitely despise both.
REAPER SUX . . . and don't you forget it!!!

(i started with the Voyetra Midi Sequencer on DOS)

Used it for years and yes you can do usually everythign for it - somehow - , you have built in tools for most stuff, usually, but man some aspects are really unprofessional or it shines throught hat tech people, not musicians made its concepts.

Hotkeys for the same action changing depending where you are, inconsistent naming with the rest of the industry, time consuming activities to do the simplest tasks (such as bouncing/freezing a track), inconsistent ui. 100 tools for the same purpose instead one that is polished and has a consistent ui. etc etc the piano roll rocks though.

no hate really but since i moved finally on to ableton im not distracted by the DAW usually and just focus on the music. it felt like having a burden taken of me.
Yes, switching from FL Studio to Ableton Live was the best thing I did.
