The reality is that this is a very stable .0 release. Dull but true. There is of course a bit of stuff and some tweaks needed, but all in all this is a very solid base to build on

o be honest, Samplitude just seems to have a warm, better-sounding audio engine, but of course, I have no scientific way to prove it.

Yet of course it is super-easy to scientifically prove that your impression is completely wrong.

We have been there a million times b.t.w. - all DAWs basically sound the same - and they should (additional processing as found e.g. in Reason and Mixbus aside, of course).

But grandstanding aside, it gets the job done for me, and honestly, that's all I care about.

Must say though - never had an issue with sluggishness with Logic’s interface.

Try to resize the mixer, move the mouse up fast. You'll see what I mean. Do the same in SO and you'll see that in SO it moves with the cursor while in Logic it takes some time to catch up with the cursor. This is just an example.

I also find quite annoying moving audio/midi clips around with adaptive snap to grid, in Logic. I always find that things are either early or late, I have to be really careful when moving things around, while in SO I never have this problem, neither in other daws, Cubase, Live etc.

Anyway, I'm not bashing on Logic, I know lots of people that are really comfortable with it. I'm just saying it's not my cup of tea. I've worked in Logic in a studio for a while, it's not like I haven't gave it a chance. But I find SO interface to be better for my workflow and more intuitive. It acts as I expect it to act and responds to my commands really fast, I don't feel like it's holding me back.

I permanently press F3 and I tend to use the mixer in fullscreen. And yeah, S1 UI is lightning fast here.
Plus, btw, the UI makes the sound 0.2554°C warmer, also adds a sublime touch of that lovely antarctic pie cake taste. Which clearly keeps the sound change under the magic 0.71°C border.
