Are the official Hybrid3 soundsets that PB are currently selling for a quid already pre-mapped in VIP?

I've already got the Fresh AIR pack for Vacuum Pro and it doesn't appear to be available in VIP unless i have to do something else to enable it.

Well by default, you do not get the expansions mapped via the factory maps. They typically include only the factory presets.mutantdog wrote:Are the official Hybrid3 soundsets that PB are currently selling for a quid already pre-mapped in VIP?

However with VIP 3.1.1, due to some weird quirk in the universe, I get the factory presets + my installed expansions, if I UNSELECT the map for Hybrid.
Same for VacuumPro with Fresh AIR.
To test this with VacuumPro, remove it from VIP, then re-scan plugins in plugin manager. But this time unselect (disable) the map, but leave the plugin itself selected. Then click OK, and the plugin with the factory presets and the expansion presets will be added to your main VIP patch list. Seems to be a bug, but it gets the job done for me, so I'm not complaining. FYI: this only seems to work with certain AIR plugins that have factory maps available.

Okay so i tried that and i see what you mean. However...
It doesn't add the correct preset map, it just seems to be some automatic tag thing rather than the predefined maps that are installed. To show you what i mean I've taken screenshots of both cases using the Vacuum Pro preset: A Sorta Psy. The first one is how it appears with the installed map and the second is how it appears when using the method outlined above.
Notice the additional parameter tags on the "official" version aswell as the macro assignment.

Well the alternative is to build custom user maps for the expansion patches.

Well sure I could build a map but I would have expected the official AIR expansions to be included, being the same company and everything. I've mostly tended to stay away from preset packs in the past but ready made VIP maps would make for a good selling point.
Anyway, this seems like a good option for InMusic instruments at least, I'll just have to see how stable it is in Live.

Anyone have VIP 3.X with the Akai MPK249? I"m curious what the functionality is with this controller.

VIP works with any MIDI keyboard, so you can map generic MIDI CC to the VIP controls, but the fully interactive two-way control is only available with an Advance type keyboard.djmino02 wrote:Anyone have VIP 3.X with the Akai MPK249? I"m curious what the functionality is with this controller.

Ok. What do you mean by "fully interactive two-way control"?
Do you mean that the non-Advance controllers won't communicate with VIP integration?

Advance keyboard has color screen with dedicated controls, which lets you navigate full VIP menu and get feedback about any updates made on PC.djmino02 wrote:Ok. What do you mean by "fully interactive two-way control"?

Advance has proprietary communication with the VIP software beyond what MIDI communications are capable of.

Gotcha! So it likely wouldn't automap to the faders?

There are factory MIDI maps for various Akai MPK and M-Audio Code and Oxygen series keyboards in the VIP software under the MIDI learn mode, so it appears that there is some automapping capability for specific keyboards. Not sure how they map the faders, as I do not own any of those keyboards.djmino02 wrote:Gotcha! So it likely wouldn't automap to the faders?

Is there a limit to the number of patches/multis that you can have in a setlist? Im guessing 128, but I jist wanted to be sure.
