Nice demo! I have AVP1, I can see using Lyra with it.
Question while I'm thinking about it: I have AVP1 in soundfont format. Kontakt2 is on the way. Will it sound noticably better in Kontakt format (24bit vs 16bit, etc)?

No it will probably sound the same if you use the soundfonts converted to Kontakt or the 24bit original versions, for a normal ear. But you get alternative mappings and stuff if you use the Kontakt or HALion programs.
We converted the 24bit WAVs to 16bit in Wavelab using Apogee dithering. However the sound is more detailed in 24bit and in a mix with lots of sounds you may hear a difference...
But Kontakt2 may sound better and then AVP may sound better than it does in your sampler today, i don't know what sampler you use now...

I use sfz+ to play soundfonts, Dimension to play sfz format.precisionsound wrote:But Kontakt2 may sound better and then AVP may sound better than it does in your sampler today, i don't know what sampler you use now...
I still have the download links for AVP1, I may download one of the sets when Kontakt arrives, to see how it compares.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Lyra... and I've been scoping out your site again, thinking about AVP2 and Ethereal.

I am happy that you like the demo of the "Lyra". I can assure you that it's marvelous to play also.
It gives inspiration to play melodies and I think that’s the whole idea about new sounds (new sounds = inspiration). When you discover that you have spending a lot of time just playing around it's a good sign and the "Lyra" is such a sound that triggers ideas to new compositions.
The real instrument is much more limited that our transformation to keyboard, so I dare to say that our SampleSet is much better than the "real thing", at least for a DAW based keyboard player

Really interested in this one for a project of "ancient music" I'm currently working on... is the release coming soon?
