Ok so years ago I came across this technique in a video...

It was a process for making somewhat "donk" sounding D&B basses out of kick drums using an FL device called the Loop Tuner. (Note - I'm not an FL Studio user)
Now I could probably make something loosely equivalent by importing a kick into a wavetable synth...
But the results of the technique in the video had a certain unrefined sound I really liked and I don't think another approach would be quite the same.
Just posting on the off chance someone in here is familiar with the video or the process!
