Actually, no. That's a different title. It was Sarah MacDougall who beat Wags to the title:

Of course, it doesn't really matter at all. Titles aren't considered protected intellectual property. You're free to write your own book titled "War and Peace". You can make your own movie and call it "Gone With The Wind". You can compose your own song and name it "Stairway to Heaven". It's all legal, and it's all fine. As long as your work is your own, it doesn't matter what you call it. :)

I would usually replace one word in the title with, 'donkey'. It's a winner.

Well, Queen had the White Queen and the Black Queen so why not a Rainbow Queen? Something bouncy and silly.

The Rainbow Queen

Oh she's a honey
Spends green money
I don't know where it goes
Tells me stories
Red and gory
They chill me to my toes
She's my girl
She's my rainbow queen

Yeah dresses funky
Like a monkey
With hair all gold and blue
Purple fingers
Scent that lingers
She shines the perfect hue
Rainbow queen

Guys wanna have her
It don't matter
She's mine all mine
Colors that capture
I'm in rapture
Yeah that girl is fine

Red and yellow lucky fellow
My life's like Colorforms
Pink and Shiny love her hiney
At night she keeps me warm
Can't get better you can't get her
She's mine all mine all mine
All mine all mine
Ooooo She's my rainbow queen

The original title was going to be "blood on the dance floor" if you read the thread before my post. I presume that's why wags changed it.

it's a fun movie if you and the wife are ever looking for a laugh 8)
Well, it inspired my next song. It's titled "Blood On The Dance Floor" and it's going to be totally over the top Queen.

Actually, I changed it because I had forgotten what I was going to name it. The curse of old age.

Back to Queen after a day off.

A Rock And A Hard Place

So here we are once again
Staring each other in the eye
Neither of us wants to admit
That we're both living with this lie

We can't stay and we can't go
And we can't make up our minds
So what on Earth do we do
I'll leave it up to you
Cause breaking my heart is so unkind

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
Being in love this way
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
Nothing more to say
I could leave you tomorrow
You could leave me today
We're stuck between a rock and a hard place
Nothing is okay
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
Choices I can't make

How did we get to this place
It wasn't anything we planned
We never wanted our lives
To end up a family of man

Repeat Pre Chorus and Chorus

Time for us to decide
No more feelings to hide
Make this work out or
Time to get out
Enough with all the lies

Repeat Chorus

You call it "Queen", but it sounds much more like a quick Jim Steinman demo for a future Meat Loaf production to me — just, without Meat Loaf himself singing.

Note: I'm a big fan of Meat Loaf's two "Bat" albums. So, don't take that badly.

Over all, I think these keep getting better, but there's still work to be done if your intent is to emulate Queen. The 'guitar' work doesn't sound quite natural yet, though I can hear a bit of Brian May influence in it. The backup vocals are getting better, but still lack a bit of the grandiose scale and polish the Queen vocals had. You've made progress though.

As long as you're having fun, keep going. I like checking these out, to see how you're progressing. :)

If you're expecting me to actually ever sound like Queen, you've got a long wait. The only aspect that has even a chance of getting closer is the guitar work. But the vocals? Forget it. I'm no Freddie Mercury (who is besides Marc Martel) and don't have the CPU power to do 100 vocal overdubs.

So this is about as good as it's gonna get. My goal right now is to do a CD of 12 songs that sound decent. So far I think I've accomplished that.
