What a cool little song! I attempted to keep it similar to the original mix vision merged with my own take on it - nothing too drastic to take away from the simplicity of this song. I hope you like it as much as I do

I loved the performances and the arrangement, and the catchy hook. Obviously you put a lot of thought into layering your instruments and vocals. Still, I tried to work fast. But as usual I started to hear lots of little details and nuances that needed to be accentuated. Three weeks later here we are.
Overall I tried to build the mix up, each chorus more dynamic and dramatic than the last.

Hey, guys.
Great song! When you start whistling the melody over and over even when you don't understand a single word of the lyrics, that's when you know this is a catchy tune!
Here's my attempt: https://soundcloud.com/smartmix/formfis ... thiagoam88
WAV: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_g4B ... TJ0Mk9Eblk
MP3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_g4B ... 0NUc1V6Mkk
Nothing fancy regarding processing (feel free to ask for any detail!). Done some editing on the vocals to correct minor timing issues on the chorus and some melodyne to fine tune the 4 part vocal intro/outro. Worked with the natural dynamics of the song, especially with panning, volume and FX automation.
Good luck to all!

1st song mixed in Reaper 5 , love this DAW for editing and mixing so far! a great step up from FL anyway...
thrown a Waves RBass on the vocal bus today so didn't really check it out with fresh ears... verse vocal may seem a bit too boomy/bassy?
Tried a bit of a dub-y yet fairly clean/solid mix.
There was quite a bit of editing work time-aligning most of the GTR, vocal and accordion parts... if I wouldn't found out about "smart tools" in Reaper it would have taken forever to edit.

Hi Guys,
This is my try on this music.
I loved the vibe, clean arrangement.
I tried to keep the mix with the same vision of the rough mix. I just added some FX on the and to create more contrast.

Please take note of the rule set:
Can those people that uploaded MP3s only AT LEAST upload an additional FLAC file if you're on limited bandwidth? This makes judging of HQ material better compared to masked lossy encoded material.
Also - those on DropBox and similar, PLEASE triple check your links. Looks like DropBox introduced a "time out" system where files only remain online for xyz days.
Thanks.
Else - a bit more than 4 hours left for submissions.

Hi everybody,
Really nice song! I tried to make my mix clean and dynamic, yet keeping the original vibe.
I hope you like it!

It is Wednesday the 22nd March 4:00am GMT+1/CET - MC30's Mix Round 1 has officially ended.
If I didn't count wrong, we barely made it to 10 participants.
Please check all of your links again if they work, provide a WAV file (or bar minimum, a FLAC file as additional lossless version), make your tracks downloadable (ideally with a WAV link, and without special login). Add to your post with further information as to what you did (if you feel like it).
Our "virtual client" will take a listen to all entries and get back to you ASAP.
Until then... thank you for your participation and please watch this space.

i noticed your WAV is in 48Khz/16bit. That does not make much sense to me, as the source was 44.1/24. Could you please re-upload your track in 44.1?
