Apart from tubes and distortion plugins, what other plugins do you use to transform drum kicks? My favourites so far were ToneBoosters ReelBus 4, Barricade 4 and Melda Transformer. When working with clean 808 kicks, these two fxs can remove the sterility of "sine" based kicks. Any other plugins that can add a pleasant dirt and mojo apart from distortions and tubes?

There was one plugin that could add various noises and crackles to audio, emulating varios degradation from Low qiality radio and TV signals, but I don't remember the name.

Did it have Grammy award winning presets?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

I use morphing. Nothing works better. Anything else simply makes it sound the same with sh*t on it, or the same distorted.
But morphing makes your kick unique, something between your original and anything you've chosen, may it be another kick, a tom drum, a snare drum, a walrus belch or anything.
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

What you use to morph?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

narrow or multiband compression => analog eq (so you can add bass) and various enhancers mostly to tighten added bass back down. My entire mixing chain is dirty as hell.. so by the time a clean sine hits the master it'll have many layers of coloration to it.

Kilohearts Disperser is a great tool for kicks (& percussion in general).

Things that I've seen do a good job:
Clippers can be quite useful - I like what Audio Assault Head Crusher is doing, but try any clipper

Any saturator. I almost always prefer whatever I'm doing to the drums with some added saturation on top

Denise Noize 2 - Adding a touch of clean noise to every hit can be quite tasteful

Blend a sample in - Doesn't have to take over the sound but can introduce grit or consistency, anything you like

Reamp a copy - I'd run it by a guitar/bass amp then blend to taste

Unfortunately, it is not. The one I'm talking about even had some various TVs And radio pictures with every mode.
