Is there a cheap/free tape wear plugin available?

I'm really into tape plugins that can turn my static, clean sounding sampled instruments into lively, Sixties/Seventies sounding recordings. Hornet Tape, Airwindows ToTape5 and FerricTDS are examples of good, cheap/free plugins, but I'd like to call them hifi tape plugins.
The ones I know of that will give me the lofi tape sound I'm after are Audiothing Reels, ToneBoosters Reelbus 4 and XLN Audio RC-20. I'd love to buy one of these, but they're out of my price range unfortunately. Especially when probably like many people here I already have collected several plugins that combined will almost give me that sound. Basically the only thing these plugins offer (besides being the ideal all in one solution) that I still need is the tape wear sound.
Does anyone know if there is a < 20 euro plugin available that emulates tape wear?

if you can do 32bit then there is wow & flutter
http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... TER&id=602
my other suggestion would be check the marketplace forum here - I bought up various things off other people and usually the kind of discounting that you get means you could afford something like DAWcasette, Reels or Reelbus4.
I'm assuming you don't have Reaktor as there are a bunch of user library ensembles that do this.

32 bit only - the predecessor to TB Ferox (which was before TB Reelbus), but a great plug-in in its own right;

Forgot to mention that I'm searching for a 32 bit plugin.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. When I say tape wear, I especially mean the inconsistant volume/high frequencies dropping/ducking.

ok then wow and flutter includes that - it's the flutter part. wow is the pitch fluctuations.
you may find some other stuff in here
http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?plug- ... /Tape&l=10
I've never found one plugin meets all my needs so I have Reels, RC-20 and Reelbus - as well as Satin and a bunch of Reaktor ensembles. I also have hardware ReVox and a cassette player.

No, I don't have Reaktor. And Reaktor Player can't run the ensembles I want.
I have that plugin already to cover the wow & flutter. Good call! But I'm missing the Ducking feature of Reels or Wear feature of ReelBus4.ChamomileShark wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 11:45 am ok then wow and flutter includes that - it's the flutter part. wow is the pitch fluctuations.
Still have some old cassette decks, but I like to work non-destructively, so I can adjust settings whenever I want.I also have hardware ReVox and a cassette player.

If you're after the exaggerated artifacts, samplers with a random modulation source can go a long way, and take it further than a lot of the plugins out there. Load in your entire track and send small amounts of chaotic modulation with the occasional manually programmed spike to things like filter cutoff, pitch, volume...

Modulation has crossed my mind too, but I'm not familiar in that area. I remember seeing some volume/filter ramdomizer plugins on vst4free, so when a tape wear plugin is not available, then I suppose that's the way to go.

Variety of sound has many good freebies 32bit. Ferric is their take on tape but I don't think you can make it lowfi. Still a bunch of great freebies from VOS.

When you were looking at AirWindows, you missed Iron Oxide! It's the lo-fi answer to ToTape's hi-fi.

So you said you have AirWindows, Hornet, and ToneBoosters stuff, and they're the 3 best tape emulations imo so I think what you're actually looking for is a "Lofi" vst more then a tape VST. I use IronOxide from AirWindows and Time Machine from Tone Boosters both of which are available for free for that old lofi sampled sound.
Also Izotope Vinyl is free and rather legendary. Another one is Unstable by De La Mancha.
This is one of my favorite lofi plugins i wish was 64 bit http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... er&id=1235
