I don't really need another dynamic eq, and while I love the UI, I tend to prefer
eq's with no analyzer. I.e. I don't use Pro Q2 a lot anyway. That said, I will upgrade
sooner or later during a sale, just because mostly...

From the Fabfilter forum...

Good news! We will add external side chain triggering in the 3.02 update, to be released within a few weeks. Cheers, Frederik (FabFilter)

I wonder how many from the crybabies in their forum now really buy the upgrade... Anyways I hope they keep it simple.

I've been using Q3 extensively over the last week's while mixing an album with 3.5 hours of fusion/jazz/improvised music (7 piece band), often automating amount of dynamic eq ranges, band frequencies, amount of cuts/boosts and it's been a blast, I love this thing!

Yes, its very flexible, good sounding and efficient.

Personally, I like this version much more then 2.
Pro-Q 2 was nice but this version I find much more useful for my purposes.

Me too - I always think "there's gotta be an easier way" but no one has truly done it yet I don't think.

ie: EQ band 3 on plugin instance A gets its sidechain signal from Band 1 on plugin instance B. No "VST3-only", no "ghost kick", no "route to this other channel and sidechain to this one and go into the plugin menu and change the output on that one and change the input on the other one" etc etc
