multichannel input on PatchWork with Pro Tools Ultimate?

I just tried to instantiate AAX PatchWork on a 7.1 channel in Pro Tools Ultimate. However, PatchWork only recognizes a 2 channel input. I noticed that I can create an 8 channel input and output in the stand alone version, but for some reason, the max input on a multichannel insert in Pro Tools Ultimate is only 2. Can someone help me figure out how to access all 8 channels on the input? Thanks so much!

Are you using the "effect" version of the plug-in (not the "Synth")? Also, how do you check the number of channels available? (there should be as many meters as channels at both input and output).
