We are happy to unleash Blue Cat's Protector 2.2, with a brand new user interface, improved algorithms with lookahead and many other improvements (full list below)!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmGrpOfmtgo
The update is free for existing customers (download it using the link received by email upon purchase), and a special introduction price (79 USD/EUR instead of 99) is available to new customers; check out the demo!
Now that all our dynamics processors have been updated with the new Blue Cat Audio look and feel, it's time to celebrate! We are launching "dynamics month" promotions with special offers on our dynamics plug-ins: Blue Cat's Dynamics (23% off), MB-5 Dynamix (33% off) and the Energy Pack bundle (25% off).
Also, existing customers will receive extra discounts by email shortly.
Whats New in Protector 2.2:
- Brand new GUI design, with improved usability and touchscreen support.
- The GUI can now be zoomed from 70% to 200%.
- Lock the GUI state to prevent changes when loading presets.
- New lookahead function to reduce distortion when used as a loudness booster.
- Mono tracks support: the plug-in now also works in mono.
- Lock GUI state to prevent changes when loading presets.
- Last loaded preset is now remembered in session and displayed in the presets menu.
- Plug-in state can now be reverted to the last loaded preset.
- Now supports retina displays on Mac (text and graphs using high resolution).
- Mac: new installer.
- Mac: fixed minor compatibility issues with Mac OS High Sierra and Mojave.
- Changed demo limitations: up to 5 instances allowed, bypass time changed to half a second, and bypass parameter is not affected anymore.
- Dropped support for Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.6 and earlier.
- Dropped support for legacy RTAS and DirectX plug-ins formats.
- Fully compatible with previous versions of the plug-in (except for VST3 on Mac, as explained below).
Update Warning: because of a bug of the initial VST3 release, this new version may not work with existing sessions that used the VST3 format. See this VST3 ID blog post for more details and how to fix it.
Enjoy!

I think the Windows 64bit VST2 download is still the 2.1 version from 2016.

Thanks for the heads up. We have indeed just fixed the link for the demo versions that still pointed to the old 2.1.

Congratulations with an update! Tried it out, seems like an interesting limiter with some unique features, like adjustable lookahead and nice things like RMS boost monitor and GR histogram.
Could get a nice "pressure" in the mix with some movement.
Thank you for what you're doing!

Tried to put my skin onto "Protector" and got no matching symbol "Kt::Graphics::GetCurrentContext" error. Protector's KUIML doesn't have that CANVAS functionality, or maybe something has changed?

I don't think so. Is there any other error in the skin?

It seems like "Kt::Graphics::GetCurrentContext" symbol was stripped because was not used in a skin (only in script), because part of the skin using it was not included while testing.
