Hi I am looking at getting Late Replies and noticed Patchwork has a bunch of fx from Late Replies and can also host other vsts so am wondering if there is anything soundwise that Late Replies can do that PatchWork cannot.
Also do they support multiple audio outputs?

thanks, woggle

Thank you for your interest in our software. Both plug-ins are actually very different.

PatchWork is mainly a multi effects processor that can host third party plug-ins and allows flexible audio routing between effects and instruments. It comes with a dedicated instrument version to host virtual instruments that has 16 outputs if you need to route aux channels in your host. Both the instrument and effect versions support up to 8 audio channels for surround tracks. There is also a Midi effect (MFX) version for Audio Units to host MIDI plug-ins in Logic Pro.

Late Replies is a delay plug-in with built-in effects that can also host third party plug-ins. But it is mainly designed for creative delay and reverb effects. It supports mono or stereo configurations and has a side chain input for ducking. It can also host plug-ins inside the feedback delay loops.

While you can create special delays with PatchWork too using the built-in delay plug-ins, it is definitely not as powerful as Late Replies for this. And Late Replies is definitely less flexible than PatchWork for third party plug-ins hosting.

Hope this clarifies!

There will be a Christmas/New Years sale probably.

Late Replies is also on sale right now, FYI.

thanks - I got Late replies and MB-7 for a good price from Thomann. Will get Patchwork as soon as I see it reduced a bit somewhere. Or maybe I will just get it :)
I have DDMF Metaplugin but it crashes a bit on my system - I like DDMF stuff so I think that is just a problem in how my system is setup rather than Metaplugin being buggy

Third party plug-ins hosting within another host is quite tricky: it definitely depends on the plug-ins you are hosting and the host application. Despite our efforts, some manufacturers still find ways to crash in some specific hosts or scenarios!
