Hey KVRpeepholes, sorry I haven't been around as much (I mostly lurk and look for free stuff and bargains lol) But I have been busy working in a studio with Geza X (produced early Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Weirdos & other early SoCal punk as well as Meredith Brooks' "Bitch" hit and records for South Park & Elliot Smith) plus I have been making music for the past 4+ years with goth/deathrock/punk legends Gitane Demone (solo/Christian Death/Chrystelles), Rikk Agnew (Adolescents, Social D, Christian Death, DI etc) and Paul Roessler (Screamers, 45 Grave, Nina Hagen). Our new album was just released Gitane Demone Quartet - Substrata Strip, here's a review in ReGen magazine that just came out. It's available at Amazon and Target and almost everywhere online. I never posted to this thread before, though I had released a bunch of albums, but I compiled my work from the last few years into two albums just now, and figured I might as well announce them here. I hardly do any kind of self promotion otherwise.
P.S. the genre on all of these is Downtempo Acid, for the most part. The majority are instrumental, but there's a few with my singing here and there.

The song-a-day project I undertook this month. For a change, I didn't stop it because burning out, but because of a conscious decision as I realized my 12th song of the year also happened to be my 300th overall song. No bonus songs in the liner notes, but they do detail my musical commitments for the next 5 months.

All this creativity was enabled by a decision I made in 2015, to not feel guilty about writing all those 8 bar (or 16 bars, or whatever) loops that kept piling on, but rather to write as many of them as I feel like, but as a general rule, whenever I want to write a full song, I have to start from the oldest 'stem' (that's what I call those 8 bar loops) that inspires me. This started with the following album, for which I ransacked my oldest material and freshened it all up, a lot (P.S., I did write music prior to 2002, as early as 1997 in fact, but I lost it all when my first computer was stolen):

Movie Musings, my concept album written during FAWM 2013. The idea for it came from hearing a lot of electronic music (particularly psychedelic trance) where samples from movies were used, and felt very arbitrary. They almost always referenced aliens or drugs, and had very little to do with the specific song they were included in, so I decided to challenge myself to write an album where I start the writing process by choosing a movie, then choosing a scene from it (and sampling that scene), and then let the dialogue I've chosen inspire the song writing itself.
