Price of the Sidekick Electronic Percussion sample set is reduced from $ 7.99 USD to $ 5.99 USD to celebrate the release of the Nanostudio 2 edition!

The Sidekick Electronic Percussion is a great add-on to any acoustic or electronic drums/percussions kits. Even though it features some kick drums, snares and toms, the bulk of this set is made of original and unique percussive sounds and FX. All were created with various softsynths.

There are now 2 options to buy it:
- All formats bundle (wav, sf2, Battery 3, Kontakt 3, NanoStudio 2) is $ 5.99 USD. Also offered on Sampleism for £4.99.

- NanoStudio 2 edition, also includes the wav files, has a special introductory price of $ 2.99 USD.

The All formats (or full) version has 285 sounds (41 MB) including 152 with velocity layers (from 2 to 8, average 4 or 5) for a total of 809 samples.

The NanoStudio edition is smaller and has less samples because NanoStudio Slate pads can hold a maximum of 3 samples. So I either ditched some velocity layers or spread them on 2 pads. It has 436 samples (24 MB unzipped).

Free demos are available for all formats HERE

Here's an audio example made with the regular version, all sounds are dry: Sidekick Montage

And a video demo made in NanoStudio 2!
First, loading and playing some kits, then there's a mini tutorial about the velocity layers.
Followed by more finger drumming and finally building a complex pattern. Skip to 4 min 03 sec. if you only want to listen to the pattern.

Here's the more detailed timeline:

0.00: Loading and playing kits / finger drumming
1.29: Velocity layers
2.10: Pads Sustain mode
2.47: More kits / finger drumming
4.03: Building a complex pattern / finale

All sounds are dry, no audio processing whatsoever!

anickt made this fun tune where the Sidekick kits are used creatively. Here's the description on the Blip Interactive forum:
This is based on a dream my daughter had. It uses an Obsidian Soprano patch from @richardyot and some Sidekick Slate kits from @zvon. The voice is from an app called Speak and rest is a mix of factory and my own Obsidian patches. Pleasant dreams!

Sidekick set got a 4 stars review on Sampleism this week:

"Definitely will require some time to explore the full capabilities of these as velocity layers. Sold me on how this is cross platform between Soundfont, Kontakt and Nanostudio. As with all Zvon's sounds, quality is excellent and price is affordable."
