Hi everyone,

At the end of last year I released a drum sample pack for Trigger called "Rhapsody in Bohemia" which was inspired by the 1970's era drum sounds of Roger Taylor from Queen.
The response was amazing but so many people asked for this to be converted into Kontakt format, so thanks to the wonderful programming skills of Jason Law (cprompt on the forum) this has now become a reality. Jason has created a wonderful instrument which plays beautifully.

We've decided to go for a 'modular' system where each component of the drum kit has it's own separate instrument and can be loaded independently. The reason behind this decision stems from the fact that the intention is to release dozens of kits over the coming months and having this system allows the customers to essentially build their own custom kits from any drum kit components that we release. It'll make sense in the long run.

The Kontakt version of this sample pack is made out of 7 different Kontakt instruments, which are:
• Snare
• Kick Damped
• Kick Open
• Tom12
• Tom13
• Tom16
• Echos

There is also a Kontakt Multi which comprise the Snare, Kick Damped, Tom12, Tom13 and Tom16. Dragging this multi in to Kontakt allows for a complete kit to be loaded in one go. Jason has also added some preset velocity curves that can be used to further craft the sound.

The minimum Kontakt requirement to play these instruments is 5.8.1 and the full version of Kontakt is required, not Kontakt Player. The instruments will play in Kontakt Player for 15 minutes in demo mode before they time out, although resetting Kontakt Player will reset the timer.
These instruments will also play perfectly in Kontakt version 6.

The pack features a gorgeous Ludwig classic maple kit with a 22x16 kick (In both dampened and wide-open tunings), 12x8, 13x10 and 16x16 toms and capped off with a 1968 Ludwig Supraphonic 400 chrome over brass snare drum.

The microphone list used to capture the samples is as follows:
Kick Close - RE-20
Snare Top - SM57
Overheads - Neumann U87
Stereo Room - Royer 121s
Mono Room - Coles 4038
Auxiliary close Mic - Vintage Silver Neumann U87
All captured through API preamps.

Customers who already purchased the trigger pack have received this instrument as a free update. Anyone who signed up to the mailing list should have received an email with a 10% discount code. (Anyone on the mailing list gets 10% off all future products for life so it's worthwhile signing up).

Please feel free to check out the brief sound clips on the playlist below and feel free to visit http://www.eatsleepdrums.com/store for more information on the pack and to purchase. The kit is priced at £15.

As always, your opinions and suggestions matter a great deal so feel free to get in touch. We have some INCREDIBLE kits lined up for release in trigger and Kontakt format over the coming months (including one that will pair with this kit extremely well) and we can't wait to share them with you.

Many thanks,
Mark @eatsleepdrums
