SUBMIT MORE PAGES LIKE THIS I'll add them. if i don't, hit me on myspace and demand it.
Question : What makes a site "FTP" style enough to make the top list?
Answer : When you access the url, on the front page of the site, it will allow you download many files (zip, rar, 7z, audio), with DownThemAll or similar download manager.
i will place sites which are close to these protocols in a list beneath the original. if the list becomes too long for one page, the second page of the thread will become the "other" sites. Any sample site linkage is appreciated. (let me know if you 404 on any of them. we'll give it a week or so and remove)

Hey man thanks for this! Before I dive in, is there anyway to be sure samples are legit with no copyrights infringed? Especially Darkbeats?

are ayou kidding about darkbeats? drum and bass heads steal everything they can touch, the whole style is about thievery....

edit: i mean it in sampling terms...

@Rottweiler: For the most part that's true, but real producers tend to make their own sounds, although I've heard samples from Darkbeats used in several songs, probably because Tilt Recordings and/or Zardonic Recordings host some of their things on there, like the remix kit for Inner Order by Switch Technique.
GENERATION 30: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

Somewhat unhelpful? Anyway not really focused in the genre specifics, just if it's legit to use the sounds. And still doesn't give carte-blanche license for thievery because some guys in a genre do it.

Thanks Dover. I started my 1st drum machine, sample based.

I just want something I can drop samples in and choose from a million presets already in there.

interesting.... i'm experimenting with something similar.... i use mapped drums.. i mean - the map doesn't matter. .. as long as i can get like 5-6 keys with drumsounds on em, i can beat it up.....

my experiments with drumsequencing in synthedit never accomplished much... thats the point where the problem of paradigm appears.... once you've achieved the thousand or so connections you need for a fine featured sequencer - you find, oh well, it works, ok, now, how to i patch, navigate, copy, paste, velocity layer.... it can all be done... but one project i had going the SE1 itself was 16 mb.... by the time you get all the pics in there, and whatnot, you'll me lucky if the VST doesn't top 20-30 mb. a minimal version of this project when finally loaded in a host took so long to initiate audio -- ah, it was essentially useless.. but it did have copy and paste per channel (and across channel... shh) - clear, etc... and i could of had saving and loading of patches on it internally, if it wasn't for those meddling kids.....

jinkys.

so, now i'm fussing with some ideas for toys... cause i likes to esperment....

um... btw... do you mean drag and drop... that would be awesome on a se vst.. but i don't think thats what you meant... it just sort of would be cool to have huh?

That would be great. I'm new here so I may have cross posted a bit too much already! Not sure where the best place was to post.

hey it's cool. this threads mainly for free wav samples, on sites with many many links.. in an FTP style format. some of us maintain very large sample libraries, and we like to remember where we got them.
