Before The Word, there was the Silence...
Primordial Silence
and the word was "f**k!"
as the silence stubbed its toe.

There are no productive sources (archai), as has been proven extensively by Socrates, and more concisely by even earlier philosophers, e.g. Gorgias. The Gospel of John is wrong by making this statement, as it goes against the primary aim of Christianity, which is to prove that there are no archai and no thing in itself. What is translated in English as 'the word' is logos in Greek - which is discursive reason, the demiurge. He creates the world in the homoiomata, as explained by Anaxagoras. This is the son that needs to be killed, in order to arrive at the Father - Helios Panoptes.
Before The Word, there was the Silence...
See, there can't be anything before an arche. And this silence: 1. was it silence itself - the auton - and 2. did it have a place, time, 'something after silence', was it perceptible, thinkable, expressible, etc. Also, there is no silence without sound. Therefore, it's the illusion of silence - because the thing itself is not found (auton hos akatalepton).
Primordial Silence
That's not saying much, I'm afraid. The correct term is aphasia - removing the narrative that creates the world.

But hey, those things are Secret! :dog:

Great post.

I before I. Sounds like the Fibonacci sequence. You've already described 0,1,1,

Silence is golden, but elusive. I prefer to think in terms of peace.

I live in a city and am surrounded by constant noise, yet I can be within the chaos and turmoil and still experience peace.

Surely you are not trying to silence those that can not resist the pondering? If so that is my least favourite silence. :o

Anyhow, no love for these guys in this thread?Image

I feel for you. If you do find such a place you will probably keep quiet about it.

That's your story and you will probably stick to it.

Another story, without the observer nothing exists. With the observer everything that exists exists in languaging. Perhaps that is what uncle John was saying.

By the way I am a Cretin and all Cretins are liars :D

Isn't this KVR? Where's the debate over digital vs analog silence?

Perhaps you need to reacquaint yourself with the real story of The Funk:

And let's not get started with Jazz Funk - Jazz's deformed cousin

Analog silence is either tape his or vinyl crackle. Digital silence is the same as analog power off...

My most impressive silence is the experience of the biggest anechoic chamber in Europe at the Technical University Berlin. I loved to take my nap there, I had the key for some time...

duct tape is silver.

Lately my favorite kind of silence is when my spouse's cousin's dog we're temporarily taking care of shuts his noise hole.
