This was, I believe, the follow up to their smash (not kidding) Chewy, Chewy. You can probably figure out the lyrics for yourself.Googly Smythe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2020 6:04 pm Sticky sticky

and then the punks came to be but I've never seen Steve Jones chew gum, in those videos, at least.

Now I have Shining Flying Purple Wolfhounds running through my head.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

and the men who hold high places
must be the ones to start
to mold a new reality
closer to the heart

Reality Asylum by Crass. Spoken word and musique concrète rather than a conventional song, but it’s a well stated, foreceful diatribe again the cult of Jesus.

Show me where you are
There’s a lot of those kinda things I just let wash over me as a youth.
Sing, Bird of Prey
Beauty begins at the foot of you
What
River running right on over my head
That wolfhounds bit became an earwig for me recently but I had to listen to verify, it’s so off the wall. He took a lot of acid in the day. Also he sez that he was more interested in the sound of words than their meaning.
but Sharp... Distance regards memory.

I remember reading an interview with Chris Squire where he was asked how much of Jon Anderson's lyrics he understood, only to respond with laughter.
My favorite of his lines is "Hot color, melting the anger to stone".
In the case of the Wolfhounds, this might just be a coincidence, or it could be an example of lyrics that sound dumb unless you know the story behind them (much like "Is there gas in the car? Yes there's gas in the car!")

Actually, The 27th Infantry Regiment of the US army is called the Wolfhounds. And their coat of arms is purple.
... although it looks blue in the picture to me.

I just saw a recent interview where he explained the meaning of the first lines of Close To the Edge... the body follows the higher mind. A beautiful thing. He simply amazes me.
I noticed Wakeman looking at Jon while he was blissing out during an instrumental section (Heart of the Sunrise, ARW) like he’s amazed for the thousandth time but like it’s the very first time.
“He’s trying to save the planet whilst living on another one”
I like
The river
can disregard the cost
and melt in the sky
like warmth when you die
apparently it’s about mountain climbing
