having a sniff around and noticed jos3 2014 publications on modeling the 808 cymbals and kick. unfortunately they too big to attach (or sticky ha) here, which would be nice to do. so pasting the titles

A PHYSICALLY-INFORMED, CIRCUIT-BENDABLE, DIGITAL MODEL OF THE ROLAND
TR-808 BASS DRUM CIRCUIT

The TR-808 Cymbal: a Physically-Informed, Circuit-Bendable, Digital Model

having had a fair go at this myself, i compared what i retained and eg. did not match the figures for oscillators, my results were derived by sample analysis.
The six oscillators have nominal frequencies (or ranges)
of 205:3, 369:6, 304:4, 522:7, 359:4–1149:9, and 254:3–
627:2 Hz. Oscillators #5–6 have internal trimpots (TM2
and TM1) in series with their resistor, for factory tuning to
specific frequencies (800 and 540 Hz, respectively).

But what were your findings then?

Kind of figures in the analog domain to do it like this, it will probably pack a whollop to do it like that. Thanks for the read!

I was thinking the machine used a sample itself. But the results can't be that different right? It does sound richer harmonically to my ears, lets try it :P

Thought I'd do a calculation by hand based of this: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/T ... 8/figure/0 Figured I'm too lazy to do it :D

A quick and dirty hack, but the harmonics seem to be somewhat close. Maybe with some carefull tweaking of the levels ittl be sameish?

Through resonant 6pole for some reakon , normally Q factor..

Using VA style resonance on stock filters, too much poles regardless. Closest yet.

This guy really did some masterpieces, must have been sitting there tweaking stuff untill it was yust right, so much fun reading these papers. :hihi: Built my own filter to do it, it's a driven pulsed network through a 1 "2" pole bandpass filter.. Not a direct copy of the frequencies used. On a somewhat clean setting. It has a thumpier sound than a straight up sinewave.
