The maths of Polyrythms.

Hey, is there a function I can use to let a sequencer I'm building in Lemur know only to create amounts of steps that are polyrhythmic?
I have the grid sequencer expanding to how many steps select via slider and resizing dynamically. It will do the division by clock for me internally so theres no worry about that, I just need to figure the expression.
I'm sure its mind-blowing simple, but I haven't done any programming for quite a while and my heads gone fuzzy. More importantly I can't figure how to use the numeric readout to debug so I don't want any odd numbers I can't see floating about.
It's part of a bigger project for Maschine that adds some missing features.
I'll figure it either way, but if anyone knows

where do these new peeps come up with these buzzword terms anymore? so u wanna be able to show ur friends ur working wit polyrydms? ppl cant caught up yet that google doesn't use "googles algorithm" they use spiders web of if then statements and special cases. so u can still tell them algoirthmic 2 u kno. just make sure to have a poly rydhm example to illustrtate that u kno what aogoirthms are.

Thanks for the paper, the "[x...x..x]" stuff is almost exactly how you type in some livecoding software (or trackers if you turn it vertical), and of course the numbers like "(2/5)" help a lot too.Music Engineer wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:26 am i (semi)recently stumbled upon this:
